About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior HVAC Technician to join their dynamic team in Pietermaritzburg . This role is critical for ensuring the optimal performance and maintenance of complex heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across various commercial and industrial properties. You will be responsible for leading diagnostic efforts, executing intricate repairs, and performing preventative maintenance, contributing directly to client satisfaction and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting on a wide range of HVAC systems, including refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating components.
• Execute complex repairs and installations of HVAC equipment, adhering to safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance to ensure system longevity and minimize downtime for clients.
• Read and interpret blueprints , schematics, and technical manuals to guide installation and repair processes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, fostering skill development within the team.
• Maintain detailed service records and report on system performance and required maintenance activities.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HVAC Technician, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
• Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
• Relevant trade certifications (e.g., F-Gas, NVQ Level 3 in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration) are highly desirable.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical diagrams and schematics.
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration principles.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a commitment to safety protocols.
