Aviation Safety Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Aviation Safety Manager to enhance and manage safety programs within their operations in Tembisa. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with all aviation safety regulations and promoting a robust safety culture across the organization. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and investigating incidents to prevent future occurrences. This is a key position for an individual dedicated to maintaining the highest safety standards in a complex aviation environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's Aviation Safety Management System (SMS).
• Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard identification across all operational areas.
• Investigate aviation safety incidents and occurrences, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to all relevant personnel.
• Promote a positive safety culture through communication, engagement, and leadership.
• Ensure compliance with all national and international aviation safety regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation safety management or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of aviation regulations (e.g., ICAO, SA-CAA) and safety management principles.
• Experience with risk management and incident investigation techniques.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Aviation Management, Safety, or a related discipline.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and demanding Tembisa operational setting.
