The Sales Representative serves as the primary point of contact for new and prospective clients, responsible for converting design enquiries into signed projects. Utilizing a consultative sales approach, this role involves understanding client spatial requirements, aesthetic goals, and budgets, then guiding them from initial enquiry through quoting, design discussions, and project sign-off in collaboration with the fabrication team. Building strong relationships with architects, builders, and interior designers is key to generating repeat and referral business.
Respond to and follow up on incoming enquiries (phone calls, email, social media, referrals) promptly and professionally.
Conduct site visits to measure, assess feasibility, and evaluate client requirements for balustrades, gates, pergolas, staircases, and bespoke steel fabrication projects.
Prepare accurate quotes based on materials, design complexity, finishes, and installation requirements.
Present design options and material/finish selections to clients (e.g., powder-coated vs. raw steel, cable railing vs. bar infill, fixed vs. retractable roofing).
Build and maintain relationships with architects, builders, interior designers, and property developers to drive referral business.
Liaise between clients and the workshop/fabrication team to ensure design intent, technical specifications, and delivery timelines are clearly communicated.
Follow up on outstanding quotes and proposals to convert leads into confirmed projects.
Manage the sales pipeline and maintain up-to-date client and project records within CRM systems or project trackers.
Attend site visits during installation when needed to manage client expectations and resolve on-site queries.
Support marketing efforts by gathering photos of completed projects, collecting client testimonials, and identifying content for brochures and social media.
3+ years of sales experience, ideally within construction, architecture, interior design, or a related trade/steel industry.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, comfortable engaging with homeowners, architects, and contractors.
Ability to read basic architectural drawings and plans.
Comfortable conducting site visits and taking accurate measurements.
Valid driver's license and own reliable transport.
Well-organized with strong follow-up discipline regarding quotes and leads.
Background or interest in design, architecture, or fabrication/metalwork.
Experience quoting custom or made-to-measure products.
Familiarity with CRM tools or project tracking systems.
