Geotechnical Engineer - Foundation Design

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to enhance their team in Centurion . This role focuses on analyzing soil conditions and designing stable foundations for a variety of construction projects. You will play a key part in ensuring the structural integrity and safety of buildings and infrastructure through expert geotechnical assessments. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site investigations, including soil drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing.
• Perform geotechnical analyses for foundation design, slope stability, and earth retaining structures.
• Prepare detailed geotechnical reports with recommendations for foundation types, ground improvement, and earthworks.
• Develop designs for shallow and deep foundations, including raft foundations, piles, and anchors.
• Collaborate with structural engineers and project managers to integrate geotechnical findings into overall project design.
• Ensure compliance with relevant geotechnical engineering standards and building codes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
• A minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience in geotechnical investigations and design.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., Plaxis, GeoStudio suite).
• Experience with laboratory testing interpretation and field investigations.
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and engineering geology.
• Excellent technical writing and presentation skills.
