About the Role

Our client is looking for a strategic and experienced Risk Manager specializing in Credit Risk to join their team in Polokwane . This critical role involves assessing, managing, and mitigating credit exposures across the organization's lending portfolio. You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust credit risk frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure sound lending practices and minimize potential losses. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of credit analysis, risk modeling, and regulatory requirements within the banking and finance sector , contributing to the financial stability and prudent growth of the institution in Polokwane .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive credit risk management policies and procedures.


• Analyze and assess creditworthiness of corporate clients and counterparties.


• Monitor and report on portfolio credit risk exposures, identifying potential areas of concern.


• Develop and maintain credit scoring models and risk rating systems.


• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to credit risk management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.


• Minimum of 6 years of experience in credit risk management, credit analysis, or a related field within a financial institution.


• Strong understanding of credit risk assessment methodologies, financial statement analysis, and risk modeling.


• Knowledge of relevant banking regulations and Basel Accords.


• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.


• Proficiency in risk management software and data analysis tools.
