About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Automotive Electrical Systems Engineer to join their dynamic engineering department in East London . You will be responsible for the design, development, and integration of complex electrical systems within vehicles, ensuring they meet stringent performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. This role requires a solid understanding of vehicle electrical architecture, component selection, and power distribution. With a hybrid work model, you will have the flexibility to collaborate effectively both on-site and remotely, contributing to the innovative development of future automotive electrical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical system architectures for new vehicle platforms, including wiring harnesses, power distribution, and sensor integration.
- Specify and select automotive-grade electrical components, connectors, and materials.
- Perform electrical simulations and analysis to ensure system integrity and performance under various operating conditions.
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
- Create and maintain detailed electrical schematics, harness drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues during vehicle development and testing phases.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 4+ years of experience in automotive electrical systems design and development.
- Proficiency with CAD tools for electrical design (e.g., ECAD, Creo Schematics).
- Strong knowledge of automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, FlexRay) and diagnostic tools.
- Experience with power electronics, battery management systems, or advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) is a plus.
- Understanding of automotive functional safety (ISO 26262) and EMC standards.
