HSE Advisor - Oil & Gas Operations

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and proactive HSE Advisor to support their operations in the Sandton, Gauteng area. This role is crucial for ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental performance across all company activities. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring HSE policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of HSE regulations within the oil and gas industry and a passion for creating a safe working environment. This hybrid role involves both on-site assessments and office-based strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain HSE management systems and procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and standards.
• Identify potential hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective and preventative actions.
• Deliver HSE training and awareness programs to employees and contractors.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend appropriate follow-up actions.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure all reporting requirements are met.

Requirements

• Relevant degree or diploma in Health, Safety, and Environmental Management.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HSE professional in the oil and gas sector.
• In-depth knowledge of South African HSE legislation and industry best practices.
• Strong auditing, risk assessment, and incident investigation skills.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
