Senior Process Engineer - Oil & Gas

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and analytical Senior Process Engineer to join their dynamic Oil & Gas division. This is a critical, fully remote role where you will leverage your expertise to optimize production processes, improve efficiency, and ensure compliance with industry standards. You will be instrumental in developing innovative solutions for complex challenges within the energy sector, working independently and collaboratively with teams across different geographical locations. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a proven track record in process design, simulation, and optimization, passionate about driving operational excellence from a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize petroleum refining processes and chemical engineering systems.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for new projects and modifications to existing facilities.
• Utilize process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) to model and analyze process performance.
• Develop PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams) and P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions to enhance safety, efficiency, and product quality.
• Collaborate remotely with project managers, discipline engineers, and operational teams to ensure project success.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in the Oil & Gas industry , with a focus on process engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of hydrocarbon processing , separation techniques, and reaction engineering.
• Proficiency in process simulation tools and data analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a remote work environment.
• Experience with HAZOP studies and risk assessment methodologies.
