Aquatics Centre Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and qualified Aquatics Centre Manager to lead their community swimming facility in Rustenburg . This role involves the comprehensive management of all aquatic programs, lifeguard services, facility maintenance, and customer engagement, ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and well-maintained environment for swimmers of all ages. The successful candidate will be responsible for operational efficiency, staff development, and fostering community participation in aquatic activities, making this a key role in promoting health and wellness in the North West region.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the aquatics centre, including pool management, safety protocols, and patron services.
• Develop, implement, and manage a diverse range of swimming programs, lessons, and events.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise lifeguard and aquatic program staff, ensuring certifications are current.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and emergency procedures, maintaining pool water quality and facility cleanliness.
• Manage the aquatics centre budget, including revenue generation from admissions, programs, and concessions.
• Liaise with local schools, clubs, and community groups to promote aquatics programs and facility rentals.

Requirements

• Proven experience in managing aquatic facilities or recreation centres.
• Strong knowledge of pool operations, water chemistry, and safety regulations.
• Current lifeguard certification (e.g., RLSS, ILS) and pool operator certification.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
• Experience in staff management, training, and program development.Ability to manage budgets and drive program participation.
