Senior Operations Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Operations Engineer to oversee and optimize daily operations for their Oil & Gas facilities near Upington. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable production of hydrocarbons while managing operational costs and maintaining regulatory compliance. You will lead field operations teams, troubleshoot production issues, and implement strategies to enhance overall asset performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day field operations, including production, maintenance, and safety activities for Oil & Gas facilities.
• Develop and implement operational plans, procedures, and performance metrics to achieve production targets.
• Lead and mentor field operations personnel, ensuring adherence to company policies and HSE standards.
• Troubleshoot operational problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
• Conduct regular site inspections and performance reviews to ensure equipment reliability and facility integrity.
• Oversee maintenance activities, coordinate with service providers, and manage operational budgets.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience in operations engineering or field operations management within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Strong understanding of production processes, artificial lift systems, and facility operations.
• Proven experience in leading and managing field teams effectively.
• Knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices relevant to Oil & Gas operations.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
