About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Automation Electrical Engineer to drive innovation and efficiency in their operations based in Mossel Bay, Western Cape . This role is crucial for the design, implementation, and support of automated control systems that enhance production processes and operational performance. You will work with cutting-edge technologies to develop PLC programs, HMI interfaces, and SCADA systems, ensuring seamless integration and optimal functionality. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, program, and commission PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for various automated processes.
• Integrate new automation solutions with existing plant infrastructure, ensuring compatibility and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve automation system issues, minimizing downtime and optimizing performance.
• Develop electrical schematics and documentation for automated control systems.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to identify opportunities for automation improvements.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in automation technology and recommend upgrades or new solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification with a specialization in Automation.
• Proven experience in programming and configuring major PLC brands (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA software and system integration.
• Solid understanding of industrial networking protocols and electrical control principles.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical and automation drawings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
