About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Automotive Mechanical Engineer to join their dedicated team in Durban . You will play a key role in the design, development, and testing of automotive components and systems, contributing to the innovation and quality of their product line. This position requires a hands-on approach and a strong understanding of mechanical principles applied to vehicle engineering. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for automotive applications, ensuring performance and durability.
• Conduct structural analysis, simulations, and stress testing on designed components using FEA tools.
• Oversee the prototyping and manufacturing processes for new automotive parts and assemblies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers and production specialists, to ensure integrated system functionality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues identified during testing and validation phases.
• Prepare technical reports, design documentation, and presentations for project stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in automotive mechanical design and development.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS).
• Solid understanding of material science, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics relevant to automotive systems.
• Experience with vehicle testing procedures and data analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
