About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Research Chemical Engineer specializing in new materials development for their advanced R&D division in Benoni . This role is focused on exploring, synthesizing, and characterizing novel chemical compounds and materials with potential applications in emerging technologies. You will work in state-of-the-art laboratories, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers, and contribute to intellectual property generation. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct fundamental and applied research into the synthesis, characterization, and application of new chemical materials.
• Design and execute experiments to explore novel chemical pathways and process conditions.

• Develop scalable laboratory procedures for promising new materials.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering with a strong focus on materials science or polymer chemistry.
• Proven track record of research and development in novel materials synthesis and characterization.
• Hands-on experience with advanced laboratory equipment and analytical instrumentation.
• Strong understanding of theoretical chemistry and physical principles governing material behavior.
• Excellent scientific writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team in Benoni.
