Electrical Engineer - Renewable Energy

About the Role

Our client seeks a dedicated Electrical Engineer focused on Renewable Energy projects to join their innovative team in Cape Town . You will play a key role in the design, development, and deployment of solar, wind, and other sustainable energy systems. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical principles applied to the renewable sector, with a focus on grid integration and energy storage solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer electrical systems for renewable energy installations, including solar PV arrays and battery storage systems.
• Perform electrical calculations, simulations, and feasibility studies for new renewable energy projects.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and grid interconnection standards.
• Collaborate with project teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure seamless project execution from concept to completion.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on renewables preferred.
• Familiarity with solar PV system design , inverters, and energy storage technologies.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical) and simulation tools.
• Knowledge of relevant South African electrical regulations and standards.
• Strong project management and communication abilities.
