Chemical Engineer - Petrochemical Projects

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Chemical Engineer to play a key role in their Petrochemical Projects division based in Polokwane. This position involves contributing to the design, execution, and commissioning of large-scale petrochemical facilities and upgrades. You will work within project teams, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineers and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. This is a challenging and rewarding role for a seasoned professional looking to impact major industrial developments in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the conceptual design and FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) stages of petrochemical projects.
• Develop process designs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications for unit operations.
• Conduct process simulations and evaluations for new installations and revamps.
• Support procurement, construction, and commissioning phases of projects.
• Ensure designs comply with industry codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to resolve technical issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in project engineering, particularly in the petrochemical or refining industries.
• Proven experience in process design, simulation, and P&ID development.
• Knowledge of relevant industry codes (e.g., API, ASME) and safety standards.
• Experience in managing technical aspects of project execution.
• Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
