About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable and resilient cloud infrastructures. This is a remote role, offering the opportunity to work from anywhere within South Africa, focusing on architecting solutions that meet complex business needs. You will engage with stakeholders at all levels, translating requirements into comprehensive technical blueprints and guiding development teams through implementation. This role demands a deep understanding of cloud technologies, a strategic mindset, and the ability to architect robust, cost-effective, and secure solutions for modern applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant cloud solutions on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Develop comprehensive technical strategies and roadmaps for cloud adoption and migration projects.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to understand requirements and provide expert architectural guidance.
• Define best practices for cloud security, cost management, performance optimization, and disaster recovery.
• Lead the technical evaluation of cloud services and technologies, making recommendations for adoption.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in IT, with a significant focus on cloud architecture and design.
• Proven expertise in designing and deploying solutions on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), serverless computing, and modern data architectures.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
