Information Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Information Security Engineer to join their team in a fully remote capacity, supporting operations near Upington . Key Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, and manage security solutions such as firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security.
• Monitor security systems and networks for suspicious activity, analyzing logs and alerts.
• Respond to security incidents, performing initial triage, containment, and escalation as needed.
• Assist in the deployment and maintenance of security tools and platforms.
• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and report on potential weaknesses.
• Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to integrate security best practices into system design and operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in an information security engineering or operations role.
• Hands‑on experience with network security technologies and principles.
• Familiarity with SIEM systems, endpoint security solutions, and vulnerability management tools.
• Understanding of cloud security concepts (AWS, Azure).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team.
