About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Livestock Manager to oversee their operations in the East London area. This role is critical for managing the health, welfare, and productivity of a diverse range of livestock, ensuring efficient breeding, feeding, and management programs are in place. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of animal care, operational efficiency, and compliance with all relevant regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily care, feeding, and health management of all livestock on the farm.
• Implement and manage breeding programs to improve herd genetics and productivity.
• Monitor animal health, diagnose illnesses, and administer treatments in consultation with veterinarians.
• Manage grazing pastures and ensure adequate feed and water resources are available.
• Supervise and train livestock handlers, ensuring adherence to safety and welfare standards.
• Maintain detailed records of animal inventory, health, breeding, and production data.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field.
• Significant experience (3+ years) as a Livestock Manager or in a similar animal husbandry role.
• In-depth knowledge of animal nutrition, breeding, health, and welfare practices.
• Experience with various livestock species (e.g., cattle, sheep, poultry).
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with farm management software and record-keeping systems in the East London agricultural community.
