Lead ESL Teacher

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and dynamic Lead ESL Teacher to guide their English as a Second Language program in East London . You will be responsible for developing effective ESL curricula, training and mentoring other ESL teachers, and ensuring a high standard of instruction for non-native English speakers. This role requires a passion for language acquisition, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. You will play a key role in empowering students to achieve fluency and confidence in English, enhancing their academic and personal opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine the ESL curriculum to meet diverse learner needs and proficiency levels.
• Train, mentor, and supervise a team of ESL teachers, providing ongoing professional development.
• Deliver engaging and effective ESL instruction to students of various ages and backgrounds.
• Design and implement comprehensive assessment strategies to track student progress.
• Create a positive and interactive classroom atmosphere that encourages language practice.
• Collaborate with school administration and other departments to integrate ESL support across the institution.

Requirements

• Master's degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience teaching ESL, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Proven experience in curriculum development and teacher training.
• Strong understanding of language acquisition theories and pedagogical methodologies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• CELTA or DELTA certification is highly desirable.
