About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivating Delivery Team Lead to supervise their delivery personnel in East London . This role is essential for ensuring the smooth execution of daily delivery operations, mentoring drivers, and upholding high standards of service and safety. You will be responsible for managing schedules, addressing on-road challenges, and fostering a positive and productive team environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a thorough understanding of delivery logistics within the Eastern Cape region, contributing directly to the company's operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of delivery drivers, providing guidance, training, and support.
• Oversee daily delivery operations, ensuring timely and accurate completion of routes.
• Monitor driver performance and adherence to safety protocols and company policies.
• Assist in resolving delivery issues, customer complaints, and logistical challenges in real-time.
• Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates, discuss performance, and reinforce best practices.
• Ensure all delivery vehicles are maintained and operated safely and efficiently.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a delivery driver or logistics role, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
• Proven ability to motivate and manage a team of individuals.
• Strong understanding of delivery routes and logistics within the East London area.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential.
• Familiarity with delivery management software is a plus.
