Manages the receiving, storage, preparation, and supply of raw materials, ensuring correct quality and quantities, while carrying out cleaning of storage and handling areas and basic maintenance of raw material equipment and systems.
Focus Area 1: Safety & Compliance
Handle materials safely and follow all storage and handling procedure
Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to SHP safety standards
Report and address risks, spills, or unsafe conditions immediately
Focus Area 2: Manufacturing Excellence
Ensure efficient handling and usage of raw materials to minimise waste
Support inventory accuracy and material flow optimisation
Assist Brewing Process Operator when problem solving and decision-making techniques and principles.
Carry out 5S tasks as per Pillar design
Support the team in implementing the Manufacturing excellence program
Carry out autonomous maintenance (cleaning, Monitor cold room temperature and the scale calibration)
Assist in conducting the weekly and month end stock taking.
Ensure the application and adherence to the administration systems and procedures
Focus Area 3: Quality
Ensure correct materials, quantities, and specifications are supplied to the process
Prevent contamination through proper handling and storage practices
Apply basic hygiene and sanitation and adhere to food safety related rules and activities as per factory instructions.
Perform Food Safety and Quality related activities as part of the FSMS and QC functions. (Expiry date, quality analysis for material receiving from Operations Department)
Maintain notes regarding recipe (raw material inputs) changes and adjustment additions.
Assist Process Operators with Quality analysis when needed
Area Focus 4: Problem Solving
Identify material-related issues such as shortages, damages, or discrepancies
Escalate and support resolution of stock or supply issues
Assist in correcting errors to ensure uninterrupted production
Area Focus 5: Process Control & Performance Monitoring
Monitor key process parameters and equipment performance during operations.
Identify and respond to deviations or abnormalities in real time.
Ensure consistent product quality through controlled and stable processes.
Follow SOPs for productions and modify when required.
Maintain detailed records of brewing reports (SIC, Logbooks and Dashboards)
Requirements
Matric Certificate
Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn and use new systems/programmes
Minimum of 1 years’ experience in an industrial environment (e.g. milling, agricultural, food production, manufacturing, or equivalent)
