About the Role
Our client seeks a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Aircraft Dispatcher to support their flight operations from Mahikeng . In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the planning and monitoring of flight operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with pilots, cabin crew, and ground staff to manage flight schedules, weather conditions, fuel requirements, and route planning. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare flight schedules, considering factors such as weather, air traffic control, and aircraft performance.
- Monitor flight progress and provide necessary updates and support to flight crews en route.
- Calculate fuel requirements and ensure compliance with weight and balance limitations.
- Liaise with air traffic control, meteorological services, and operational control centers.
- Issue flight plans and ensure all operational documentation is accurate and complete.
- Manage irregular operations, including diversions and cancellations, ensuring passenger and crew safety.
Requirements
- Valid Aircraft Dispatcher license or equivalent qualification (e.g., Flight Operations Officer).
- In-depth knowledge of aviation meteorology, navigation, and flight planning principles.
- Strong understanding of ICAO regulations and relevant aviation laws.
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Proficiency with flight planning software and communication systems.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in flight operations or dispatch.
