Water Resources Engineer - Gauteng Infrastructure

About the Role

Our client, a distinguished engineering consultancy in Pretoria , is seeking a skilled Water Resources Engineer to contribute to vital water infrastructure projects across Gauteng . This role is critical for managing and optimizing water resources, including supply, drainage, and wastewater systems, ensuring sustainable development and community well-being. You will collaborate with a team of experts to design innovative solutions that address the region's growing water demands and environmental challenges. This hybrid position allows for a balance of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility, contributing to impactful public works.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and implement water resource management projects, including dams, pipelines, canals, and treatment facilities.
• Conduct hydrological studies, hydraulic modeling, and water balance analyses to assess water availability and demand.
• Develop strategies for stormwater management, flood control, and wastewater collection and treatment systems.
• Prepare detailed designs, technical reports, and environmental impact assessments.
• Ensure all designs and projects comply with relevant national and provincial water resource legislation and standards.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in water resource engineering and management.
• Professional registration with ECSA.
• Proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM, EPANET).
• Strong understanding of South African water law, policies, and environmental regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
