About the Role

Our client is seeking a data-driven Aviation Operations Analyst to join their team in Durban. This hybrid role involves analyzing operational data to identify trends, improve efficiency, and support strategic decision-making within the aviation sector. You will work closely with various departments, including operations, scheduling, and finance, to provide actionable insights that enhance performance and optimize resource allocation. Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets related to flight operations, aircraft utilization, and network performance.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements within the airline's operations.
• Support the flight scheduling and network planning teams with data-driven recommendations.
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis to address specific operational challenges and support strategic initiatives.
• Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to improve data quality and reporting capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience in data analysis, with a strong understanding of aviation operations metrics.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, or R.
• Experience with business intelligence tools like Tableau or Power BI is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong communication skills, able to present complex data findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
