Lead Project Manager - Infrastructure

About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and results-driven Lead Project Manager to spearhead critical infrastructure projects in Cape Town . This senior role involves leading the planning, execution, and delivery of complex, high-value infrastructure initiatives. You will be instrumental in defining project roadmaps, managing multiple concurrent projects, and ensuring alignment with the company's long-term vision and investment strategies. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership acumen and a deep understanding of infrastructure development, ensuring successful project outcomes in a challenging yet rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of major infrastructure projects from conception to completion.
• Develop and implement robust project strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory compliance.
• Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and procurement processes for infrastructure development.
• Lead and mentor a team of project managers and project coordinators, providing guidance and oversight.
• Identify and manage project risks, dependencies, and critical path activities for infrastructure initiatives.
• Liaise with external stakeholders, including government bodies, suppliers, and community representatives, to ensure project success.

Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of extensive experience in project management , with a strong focus on infrastructure development .
• Demonstrated success in managing projects with significant capital expenditure and complex logistical challenges.
• Expert knowledge of infrastructure project lifecycles, including site selection, design, construction, and commissioning.
• Exceptional leadership qualities, with experience managing large, dispersed teams.
• Proficiency in risk management, contract negotiation, and stakeholder engagement in the infrastructure sector.
• A relevant degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required.
