About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and security-focused Telecom Network Security Specialist to join their fully remote cybersecurity team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for safeguarding our client's critical telecommunications infrastructure against evolving cyber threats. You will design, implement, and manage robust security solutions, conduct vulnerability assessments, and respond to security incidents. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned security professional to work remotely, contributing to the protection of vital services and working alongside a collaborative, expert team dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of network security in the telecom industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain network security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses.
  • Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and respond promptly to security incidents and breaches.
  • Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices across the organization.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies relevant to the telecom sector.
  • Collaborate with IT and network teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of network design and operation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in network security, with a strong focus on telecommunications environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and tools.
  • Experience with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and manage security incidents.
  • Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCNA Security, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
