About the Role

Our client seeks an experienced Remote Senior Structural Engineer to lead structural design projects from anywhere in South Africa. This fully remote position requires a seasoned professional adept at designing complex structures and managing projects with minimal supervision. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients through advanced digital platforms, ensuring the integrity and safety of buildings and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design of various building types and infrastructure projects, ensuring safety, serviceability, and economy.
• Perform advanced structural analysis using state-of-the-art software for complex loading and material conditions.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and design reports.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design teams remotely.
• Review project proposals, tender documents, and construction shop drawings.
• Ensure designs comply with the latest South African National Standards (SANS) and relevant building codes.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering (Structural major), with ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng).
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in structural engineering design and project leadership.
• Extensive experience with various structural materials, including concrete, steel, and masonry.
• Expert proficiency in advanced structural analysis and design software (e.g., Prokon, SAP2000, ETABS, Revit Structure).
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet demanding deadlines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for a remote work environment.
