Graduate Financial Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Financial Accountant to join their finance department in Port Elizabeth . This is an excellent opportunity for recent accounting graduates to gain practical experience in financial accounting, reporting, and compliance within a dynamic corporate setting. You will work closely with seasoned accountants, learning essential accounting principles and contributing to the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role is fundamental to ensuring sound financial operations for the company in the Eastern Cape region.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Support the annual audit process by preparing schedules and providing necessary documentation.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
• Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Good organizational and time management abilities, essential for working in Port Elizabeth .
