Water Resources Engineer - Municipal Projects

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Water Resources Engineer to contribute to vital municipal projects in Richards Bay . This role involves the planning, design, and implementation of systems for water supply, wastewater treatment, and stormwater management, addressing the growing needs of the community. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including municipal officials, environmental agencies, and construction teams, to deliver sustainable and efficient water infrastructure solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design and manage projects related to water distribution networks, sewer systems, and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water supply and drainage systems.
• Develop conceptual designs, detailed engineering plans, and specifications for infrastructure development.
• Perform environmental impact assessments and ensure compliance with water quality regulations.
• Collaborate with clients and contractors to oversee project execution and quality control.
• Investigate and recommend solutions for water scarcity and pollution control issues.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in water and wastewater infrastructure design.
• Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) registration with ECSA is required.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software such as EPANET, InfoWorks WS, or similar.
• Strong understanding of water treatment processes, pipe network analysis, and stormwater management principles.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
