About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive Cybersecurity Threat Analyst to join their growing security operations center in Durban . In this critical role, you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and responding to cyber threats that could impact the organization. You will leverage advanced tools and techniques to detect sophisticated attacks, investigate security incidents, and provide actionable intelligence to enhance defensive measures. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze security alerts from various sources, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection tools.
• Investigate security incidents, perform forensic analysis, and determine the root cause of breaches.
• Develop and maintain threat intelligence feeds and reports to inform security strategies.
• Conduct threat hunting exercises to proactively identify and neutralize potential threats.
• Collaborate with incident response teams to contain and eradicate threats effectively.
• Provide recommendations for improving security controls and defensive measures based on threat landscape analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field; relevant certifications like CompTIA Security+ or CySA+ are a plus.
• 2-4 years of experience in cybersecurity operations, threat analysis, or incident response.
• Proficiency with security monitoring tools (SIEM, EDR, SOAR) and an understanding of threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automation is advantageous.
