Wireless Network Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a hands-on Wireless Network Technician to support their operations in Stellenbosch . This role is focused on the installation, configuration, and maintenance of wireless communication systems, playing a key role in expanding reliable connectivity. You will work directly with advanced wireless equipment, ensuring optimal performance and signal strength for various applications within the telecoms sector. The ideal candidate has practical experience with wireless technologies and a commitment to high-quality field service.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and deploy wireless access points, routers, and related network hardware.
• Perform site surveys to determine optimal placement for wireless equipment and troubleshoot signal interference.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to wireless network performance, connectivity, and security.
• Conduct regular maintenance and upgrades of wireless network infrastructure.
• Test and verify the functionality and coverage of newly installed wireless systems.
• Provide technical support to end-users experiencing wireless connectivity problems.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications (e.g., CWNA) are highly advantageous.
• Proven experience in installing and troubleshooting wireless networks (Wi-Fi, cellular, point-to-point).
• Familiarity with wireless network protocols, security standards (WPA2/3), and RF principles.
• Ability to use wireless diagnostic tools and spectrum analyzers.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail for effective troubleshooting in Stellenbosch .
• Physically capable of working at heights and in various environmental conditions, as required for field installations .
