HR Compliance Specialist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous and knowledgeable HR Compliance Specialist to ensure adherence to all relevant labor laws and regulations in a fully remote capacity. This critical role involves monitoring, auditing, and updating HR policies and practices to maintain legal compliance and mitigate risks. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to interpret regulations and implement necessary changes across the organization. The ideal candidate is an expert in employment law with a keen eye for detail and a passion for ethical HR practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all South African labor laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures to reflect current legislation.
• Conduct regular audits of HR practices and documentation to identify and rectify compliance gaps.
• Provide guidance to HR team and management on compliance-related matters.
• Manage and respond to regulatory inquiries and audits.
• Stay abreast of changes in labor law and advise the organization on potential impacts.

Requirements

• Law degree or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience specifically focused on HR compliance and labor law.
• In-depth knowledge of South African employment equity, BCEA, LRA, and other relevant legislation.
• Experience in developing and implementing compliance programs.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, essential for remote collaboration.
