About the Role

Our client, a leading financial services provider based in George , is looking for a diligent and insightful Credit Analyst to join their growing team. This position involves assessing the creditworthiness of potential borrowers and managing existing credit facilities to mitigate risk. You will play a vital role in the lending process, ensuring that the company's portfolio remains sound and profitable. This role offers a blend of analytical work and client interaction, providing a challenging yet rewarding career path in the financial sector within the beautiful Western Cape region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other financial data to assess credit risk.
  • Prepare detailed credit applications and recommendations for loan approval or rejection.
  • Monitor assigned loan portfolios for potential risks and covenant compliance.
  • Conduct industry and market research to support credit decisions.
  • Communicate with clients regarding financial requirements and credit decisions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Credit Analyst or in a similar lending-related role.
  • Solid understanding of financial analysis, risk assessment, and credit principles.
  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
