About the Role
Our client is looking for a meticulous and knowledgeable HR Compliance Specialist to ensure adherence to all relevant labor laws and regulations for their operations in Paarl. This role is essential for mitigating risk and maintaining the company's ethical and legal standards. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs, policies, and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of employment law, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to translate complex regulations into practical, actionable guidance for the business and its employees, safeguarding the organization’s reputation and operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with South African labor laws and industry regulations.
- Conduct regular audits of HR practices and documentation to identify and address potential compliance issues.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in labor laws and regulations and advise management on necessary adjustments.
- Manage and respond to inquiries from regulatory bodies and government agencies.
- Develop and deliver training programs to employees and managers on compliance-related topics.
- Oversee the investigation of compliance complaints and implement corrective actions as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience specifically in HR compliance or labor law.
- In-depth knowledge of South African labor legislation (e.g., BCEA, LRA, EEA).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex legal documents.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
