About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Industrial Engineer with expertise in Facilities and Layout Design to join their team in Upington . This role will be responsible for planning, designing, and optimizing facility layouts and material flow to maximize efficiency, safety, and space utilization. You will work on everything from initial concept through to final implementation, ensuring that our operational spaces support our production and logistical needs effectively. This is a critical role for optimizing the physical infrastructure of our operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and optimize facility layouts, including production areas, warehouses, and support spaces.
• Develop material flow strategies to minimize travel distances and improve operational efficiency.
• Utilize CAD software and simulation tools to model and evaluate layout alternatives.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments and ensure designs comply with safety and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and construction teams on facility projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
• 3-5 years of experience in industrial engineering with a specialization in facility layout and design.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of material handling systems and logistics.
• Experience with ergonomic analysis and workplace safety standards.
• Excellent spatial reasoning and problem-solving abilities relevant to the Upington area operations.
