Senior Industrial Engineer - Manufacturing Optimization

About the Role

Our client seeks a highly analytical and experienced Senior Industrial Engineer to drive manufacturing optimization efforts at their facility in Randburg . This role is key to improving operational efficiency, productivity, and quality across various production lines. You will analyze existing processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement data-driven solutions using lean manufacturing principles and advanced engineering techniques. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned engineer to make a tangible impact on operational performance within a dynamic industrial setting in the Gauteng province.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, throughput, and cost reduction.
• Develop and implement lean manufacturing initiatives, such as Six Sigma projects, 5S, and Kaizen events.
• Design and optimize factory layouts, material flow, and workstation ergonomics.
• Develop and maintain production standards, work instructions, and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and engineering, to implement process improvements.
• Utilize statistical analysis and simulation tools to model and predict process performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial engineering, process improvement, or manufacturing operations.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical process control (SPC).
• Proficiency with CAD software and simulation tools (e.g., Arena, FlexSim).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization.
