Information Security Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned and strategic Information Security Manager to lead their security operations in Paarl. This leadership role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the organization's overall information security program. You will oversee a team of security professionals, ensuring the protection of sensitive data and the integrity of IT systems. This position requires strong leadership qualities, extensive technical knowledge, and a commitment to maintaining a robust security posture within our Paarl based operations. You will play a critical role in risk management, incident response, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive information security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Lead and manage the information security team, fostering a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement.
• Oversee risk assessments, vulnerability management, and penetration testing programs.
• Manage security incident response activities, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and contractual security requirements.
• Collaborate with IT and business units to integrate security into all aspects of operations.
• Manage security budgets and vendor relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), risk management, and compliance.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing enterprise-wide security programs.
• Strong understanding of network security, application security, cloud security, and data protection.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
