About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Research Scientist to join their advanced Neurobiology research unit in East London . This role is central to investigating the complexities of the nervous system, aiming to uncover the mechanisms underlying neurological disorders and identify potential therapeutic targets. You will conduct rigorous experiments, analyze complex biological data, and contribute to the interpretation of findings that advance our understanding of brain function and disease. Working within a state-of-the-art research facility, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of neuroscientists, clinicians, and other specialists, contributing to impactful discoveries in a field crucial for human health.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute experimental studies investigating neuronal function, development, and disease mechanisms.
- Utilize a range of neurobiological techniques, including molecular, cellular, and electrophysiological methods.
- Analyze and interpret complex datasets, including imaging data, behavioral data, and molecular profiles.
- Prepare detailed research reports, manuscripts for publication, and presentations for scientific conferences.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues on interdisciplinary research projects.
- Maintain meticulous laboratory records and adhere to all safety and ethical guidelines.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Neurobiology, Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in neurobiology research.
- Proven experience with techniques relevant to neuroscience, such as electrophysiology , immunohistochemistry, calcium imaging, or molecular assays.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis software and statistical methods.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a collaborative research team.
