Process Design Engineer - Petrochemicals

About the Role

Our client is looking for a creative and experienced Process Design Engineer specializing in petrochemicals to join their fully remote global engineering team. This role is integral to the conceptualization and development of innovative process designs for new and existing petrochemical facilities. You will work on challenging projects, leveraging advanced simulation tools and your expertise to create efficient, safe, and environmentally sound process solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of process designs, including PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances for petrochemical plants.
• Perform process simulations and modeling using industry-standard software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ProMax).
• Conduct feasibility studies and conceptual design work for new plant projects and expansions.
• Specify major process equipment, including reactors, columns, heat exchangers, and pumps.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant industry codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with project management, procurement, and construction teams in a remote setting to ensure successful project execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process design engineering, with a strong focus on the petrochemical sector.
• Extensive experience with process simulation and design software.
• Solid understanding of reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and separation technologies relevant to petrochemicals.
• Excellent technical communication skills and ability to articulate complex designs clearly.
• Proven ability to work effectively and autonomously in a remote, international team environment.
