Chemical Engineer - Plant Operations Support

About the Role

Our client is seeking a versatile Chemical Engineer to provide essential support to plant operations in Paarl . This hybrid role requires a balance of on‑site presence for operational engagement and remote capabilities for data analysis and reporting. You will play a key role in optimizing plant performance, troubleshooting operational issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to plant operations, diagnosing and resolving process‑related issues.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze data to identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Assist in the development and implementation of operational procedures and best practices.
• Conduct root cause analysis for production upsets and equipment failures.
• Support process safety management (PSM) activities and ensure adherence to safety regulations.
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to plan and execute plant improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in chemical plant operations or process engineering.
• Solid understanding of chemical processes, equipment, and safety principles.
• Proficiency in data analysis and using tools like Excel or specialized software.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
