Lead Chemical Process Development Engineer - Remote

About the Role

Our client is seeking an exceptional Lead Chemical Process Development Engineer to drive innovation and excellence in process development, operating entirely remotely. In this senior role, you will guide the conceptualization, design, and scale-up of novel chemical processes, leading a team of engineers through virtual channels. Your expertise will be crucial in translating laboratory discoveries into viable industrial-scale operations, fostering a culture of advanced R&D and technical leadership from a distance, and significantly impacting the future direction of our client's product portfolio through pioneering chemical engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of innovative chemical processes from lab scale through to pilot and commercial scale, managing projects remotely.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of chemical engineers, facilitating collaboration across virtual platforms.
• Develop and optimize reaction pathways, separation techniques, and purification methods for new chemical entities.
• Oversee the design and execution of process scale-up studies , hazard analyses, and economic evaluations.
• Collaborate closely with research scientists, manufacturing teams, and regulatory affairs, maintaining effective communication remotely.
• Ensure thorough documentation of all process development activities, including patents and technical reports.

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering with a strong focus on process development.
• 10+ years of experience in chemical process development , including significant scale-up experience.
• Proven track record in leading technical projects and managing engineering teams.
• Expertise in organic synthesis scale-up , reaction kinetics, and process modeling.
• Familiarity with GMP requirements and pilot plant operations is highly advantageous.
• Exceptional skills in virtual project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement.
