Senior Production Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Senior Production Engineer to join their team near Upington . This role is critical for optimizing hydrocarbon production from existing fields and ensuring the efficient operation of production facilities within the Oil & Gas sector . You will analyze production data, troubleshoot operational issues, and implement strategies to maximize recovery and minimize downtime. This position requires a strong technical background and hands-on experience in production operations, contributing directly to the company's operational success and asset performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze production performance of wells and facilities, identifying areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement production optimization strategies, including artificial lift methods and injection programs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production-related operational issues and equipment failures.
• Provide technical support for well interventions, workovers, and facility modifications.
• Ensure production operations comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in production engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proficiency in production system analysis, artificial lift design, and wellbore modeling.
• Strong understanding of surface facility operations and production chemistry.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
