About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Plant Chemical Engineer to manage and improve operations at their facility in Nelspruit. This role is critical for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of chemical processes within the plant. You will be involved in troubleshooting, process improvements, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and optimize day-to-day chemical plant operations, ensuring efficient production and adherence to schedules.
- Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and equipment failures, implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance yield, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and plan for necessary upgrades or repairs.
- Train and mentor plant operators on process procedures and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
- At least 4 years of experience in a chemical plant or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of chemical processes, unit operations, and process control.
- Experience with safety management systems and environmental compliance.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot operational issues and implement effective solutions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
