Junior Chemical Engineer - Projects

About the Role

Our client, a growing chemical manufacturing company in Polokwane , is seeking an enthusiastic Junior Chemical Engineer to join their project engineering team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience in project execution, process design support, and plant operations. You will work closely with senior engineers on various capital and process improvement projects, contributing to the company's expansion and efficiency initiatives in Limpopo . Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, design, and execution of capital projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Support senior engineers in developing process designs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
• Conduct technical research and data analysis to support project decision-making.
• Participate in site inspections and commissioning activities for new equipment and processes.
• Assist in troubleshooting operational issues and implementing solutions under supervision.
• Prepare project documentation, reports, and presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 0-3 years of relevant experience, including internships or co-op programs.
• Basic understanding of chemical processes, P&IDs, and process safety principles.
• Familiarity with engineering software such as CAD or process simulation tools is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn and develop professional skills within a dynamic industrial setting in Polokwane.
