Junior Buyer - FMCG

About the Role

Our client, a key player in the FMCG sector, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to join their procurement team in Mahikeng . This role is crucial for sourcing high-quality raw materials, packaging, and other essential supplies at competitive prices, ensuring uninterrupted production and operational efficiency. You will work under the guidance of senior buyers, developing your procurement skills and contributing to cost-saving initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen interest in supply chain and purchasing within the fast-paced consumer goods environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior buyers in sourcing suppliers and obtaining quotations for goods and services.
• Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, prices, and supplier performance.
• Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and cost-saving opportunities.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with relevant departments to manage stock.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related administrative role.
• Familiarity with procurement processes and basic negotiation skills.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• An interest in the FMCG industry is a plus.
