Procurement Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to join their dynamic team in Durban . This role is crucial for supporting the company's purchasing activities, ensuring that all goods and services are acquired efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance with organizational standards. You will work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to manage procurement processes, from requisition to payment, playing a key role in maintaining a smooth and reliable supply chain for the business operations in KwaZulu-Natal.

Key Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring adherence to budget and quality standards.
• Source and identify new suppliers, evaluating their capabilities, reliability, and pricing structures.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers for goods and services, aiming for optimal value and service delivery.
• Monitor supplier performance and proactively address any issues related to delivery, quality, or cost.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with finance and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and payment of procured items in Durban .

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and contract principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lia dapt to different stakeholders.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and MS Office applications.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
