About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join their legal team in Paarl. This position focuses on the drafting, negotiation, and management of a wide range of commercial agreements crucial to the company's operations. You will work closely with various business units to understand their contractual needs, mitigate risks, and ensure that all agreements align with legal requirements and business objectives. The ideal candidate possesses excellent drafting skills, a thorough understanding of commercial law, and the ability to provide pragmatic advice in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts, including service agreements, supply agreements, and NDAs.
• Provide legal advice on contract interpretation, risk assessment, and best practices.
• Manage the contract lifecycle, from initial drafting through execution and renewal.
• Ensure all contracts comply with relevant laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with business development, procurement, and sales teams to support their contractual needs.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience focused on commercial contract law.
• Strong proficiency in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Excellent understanding of contract law principles and commercial risk management.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
