Senior Business Developer

JOB PROFILE
The role will focus on identifying new opportunities, building trusted client relationships, and working with the Companys technical teams to shape practical, value-adding solutions. The successful candidate will be expected to turn market insight into a disciplined opportunity pipeline and represent the Company with confidence in both strategic client discussions and day-to-day commercial follow-up.
Grow the new business portfolio by identifying, prioritising and engaging prospective clients in target market segments.
Confirm client requirements using technical and mining knowledge, then work with the Companys technical specialists to develop credible proposals and solution approaches. Manage the commercial aspects of new consulting projects, including progress meetings, client invoicing, debtor management and escalation of delivery or client risks.
Monitor the market, customer environment, industry drivers, risks and opportunities, and share relevant feedback with the leadership team.
Build and maintain a disciplined pipeline by researching target companies, initiating contact, following up with decision-makers and reporting on leads and proposals.
Maintain trusted relationships with current and new customers through professional digital and face-to-face engagement.

REQUIREMENTS

Desired qualifications and experience
Bachelor's degree plus minimum 5-8 years of experience in a similar role
EE/AA: Preferred, but not essential
Availability / Start: ASAP
The role requires someone who is comfortable working across commercial and technical conversations, from early client engagement through to proposal development, handover and follow-up with delivery teams.
Clear understanding of capital-intensive project execution, including study phases, gate approvals, mining technical disciplines and typical study deliverables.
Proven ability to craft technical service solutions and commercial proposals for professional services assignments in the mining industry.
Knowledge of some of the following commodities will be advantageous: PGMs, Chrome, Vanadium, Gold, Diamonds, Lead, Zinc, Rare Earths, Coal, Manganese, Copper or Nickel.
Commercial judgement to assess opportunity quality, pricing considerations and the effort required to convert leads into profitable work.
Structured working style with accurate record-keeping, disciplined follow-up, clear prioritisation and strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills; CRM experience is advantageous.
Results-driven communication style, with the ability to maintain momentum on leads, proposals, client meetings and conversion targets.
Alignment with the Companys values and Code of Conduct through ethical conduct, initiative, professional engagement and accountability for own growth.
Confidence to engage with senior client representatives, understand their business drivers and position the Companys service offering in a clear and practical way.
