Lead Information Security Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Information Security Analyst to guide their security operations in Benoni . In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the security analysis team, mentoring junior analysts, and driving the continuous improvement of security monitoring and incident response capabilities. You will play a critical part in protecting the organization's digital assets by analyzing threats, managing security tools, and ensuring effective defense strategies are in place. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of information security analysts, providing technical guidance and performance feedback.
• Oversee the monitoring of security alerts and logs to detect and analyze potential security threats and incidents.
• Manage and optimize security information and event management (SIEM) systems and other security tools.
• Develop and refine incident response procedures, and lead the response to major security incidents.
• Conduct in-depth threat hunting and vulnerability analysis to proactively identify risks.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of security policies and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in information security analysis, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
• Expertise in security monitoring, threat detection, incident response, and forensic analysis.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and common attack vectors.
• Experience with SIEM platforms and other security technologies.
