Purpose of Role
The Talent Associate is part of the Talent Acquisition function and provides important support to your pod and Team Lead.
The main function will be to source and engage the right candidates for assigned job orders, and to make sure the candidate engagement and onboarding process is run effectively.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Dive into the world of headhunting, using your insights and innovative tools to identify potential stars for our clients
- Actively hunt for talent that isn’t on job boards, building targeted lists and mapping the market
- Develop and own the talent pool for your desk
- Assist with screening of candidates by phone and email to determine if they match our client expectations
- Build candidate shortlists to the standard our consultants can send to clients
- Arrange interviews and run reference and background checks
- Onboard candidate profiles in a complete and accurate manner to our database, so we’re able to match candidates with open jobs
- Actively participate in creating a great candidate experience when engaging with applicants
- Communicate effectively with candidates, both successful and unsuccessful applicants, to ensure a great experience with our company and brand
- Post and review your job adverts on multiple platforms
- Keep our CRM data accurate and audited, because it’s the one source of truth
- Learn the finance market: designations, salaries and career paths
- Provide support to the consultants in your pod
Who We Think Would Be a Great Fit
- A completed degree, or completing your studies by December 2026
- You DON’T have previous experience in Recruitment, that’s IDEAL for this role
- You like working with people (customer service is GREAT experience)
- High levels of hunger, urgency, curiosity, eye-for-detail and resilience
- Structured, process driven and detail oriented
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills (non-negotiable)
- Tech savvy and quick to pick up new tools
- Based in Stellenbosch, and able to be in the office 3 days a week
- South African Citizen (beneficial)

Your Growth Path
- Year 1: Learn, train, and grow into OTE R240k–R300k (R20k–R25k/month)
- Year 2: Promotion to Talent Consultant, with OTE R300k–R420k (R25k–R35k/month)
- Year 3: Promotion to Senior Talent Consultant, with OTE R420k–R540k (R35k–R45k/month)
- Beyond: Run your own specialist desk or build your own team. No ceiling.
